Pretty Woman 2: A Second Chance picks up 30 years after Vivian and Edward’s whirlwind love story. Now married and semi-retired, they live quietly in San Francisco. But when Edward is diagnosed with early-stage Parkinson’s, their peaceful life is shaken. Vivian becomes his caregiver, struggling emotionally as she watches the man she loves grow weaker.
Their relationship is further tested when a young woman named Mia (Zendaya) shows up, claiming to be Vivian’s biological daughter—whom she secretly gave up for adoption before meeting Edward. The revelation shocks Edward and threatens the trust they’ve built. Mia resents her mother’s past choices but is drawn into their world when offered a design internship at a prestigious L.A. fashion house funded by Edward.
Meanwhile, Mia falls in love with Alex (Timothée Chalamet), a kind-hearted bookstore owner with his own baggage. Their budding romance mirrors Vivian and Edward’s in some ways, but Mia is more guarded.
Edward’s health declines, leading to a heartbreaking but peaceful death surrounded by Vivian and Mia. In the aftermath, mother and daughter finally begin to bond. Vivian gives Mia a red box—the same one from the original film—with the necklace Edward once gave her, symbolizing the continuation of love.
The film ends with Mia walking down Hollywood Boulevard in a red dress, echoing Vivian’s past, as Alex catches up to her and says, “So what happens after the knight rescues the princess?” She replies, “She saves him right back.” Fade to black.
